New Bluestar Pattern

Hello!

As I've been slowly transitioning to full illustration mode, I figured my online presence needed a little updating. First up - the Bluestar Bloggery header!

I wanted my header to represent who I was as a person...artist...mother. So I made a little illustrated pattern with pieces of my life all thrown in. You'll find me, Stephen and Stella. Lots of nature - including my iconic bunny. Music, a bike, a pen, pepperoni pizza and even a star pennant.

Then I made a seamless pattern that I used for my Twitter background. Can you believe I've had the same background for over 3 years? Wow. Definitely time for an update.

I also tweaked the header for my new Emily Balsley Illustration Facebook page. By the way - have you liked me there yet?

This was a super fun project. It feels so good to have some consistency between all my pages! And something that is TRULY me.

Cheers!

  2. I love it! It'd be awesome as a piece of spoonflower fabric too :) I would definitely go straight to my sewing machine and make something cute with it!

    1. Aw, what a sweet comment! Thanks so much, Kim! One of my 2012 goals was to do a small line of fabric printed at Spoonflower. Unfortunately, since it's already September, that probably won't happen...but your kind words has inspired me to tackle that goal sooner than later! :-)
